Certificate III in Makeup Hairstyling Pathway

First, you will learn about product knowledge and kit building, the artists skin guide, foundations, colour theory, selections of the best makeup products, achieving glowy and fresh skin, natural contouring and highlighting, alluring eyes and luscious lips.

How to prepare for the makeup service with professional consultations with the application of Individual and full bar lashes.

Techniques and applications you will learn are; everyday makeup, specialty makeup, special events, the faces of fashion; timeless looks and seasonal trends, creative direction and collaboration, creating the look for showtime, fashion photography, airbrush makeup, all about lashes, makeup for men, makeup for teens, makeup for aging skin, camouflage and corrective makeup techniques, creative avant-garde makeup and fantasy makeup.

All with high end industry knowledge in preparing your makeup work area, pre and post service procedures, scheduling your next appointments, thanking your client and end of day procedures.

We will start from a variety of classic makeup looks, and slowly transform into full faces of Red Carpet makeups using high definition, airbrush and creative techniques. Working with a range or creative designs from the Cat Eye, the Red Lip, Smoky Eye, the White Tightline, the Airbrush No-Makeup Makeup with Glowing Skin and the Natural Eye and to more lavish and artist eye designs and contours.

The second part of the course shows you the techniques of hairstyling with its focus on blow-drying, using a variety of tools and thermal styling techniques: discovering a complete collection of different types, style trends, from creating curls, waves and volume, to the straight and smooth focusing on editorial and event styling.

You will discover how to straighten hair using brush techniques and thermal tools alongside curling and texturizing hair, setting hair, using rollers and designing and applying hair up. Most importantly we will touch base on healthy hair care with a low impact on the environment.

You will also learn the elements of hair design, volumizing, straightening, smoothing and texturizing products. Towards the end we will show you the secrets to scheduling and providing professional and successful client consultation and how to create a master hair service plan.

Styling focuses will be on front cover and event trends and techniques. Transforming hair from wet to styled – straight, transforming hair from wet to styled – face frame, transforming hair from wet to styled – round brush, smooth with movement, smooth, flipped ends, beach waves, glossy waves, half up curls, messy half top knots, root lift waves, mermaid waves, Hollywood glam, bouncy curls, 24 hour curls, styling with bangs, undone waves, full bodied volume with rise, slicked backs, styling with a variation of hot tools, deep waves, voluminous curls, the famous butterfly and event up styling.

What our students say

Very friendly staff with great knowledge and experience, would highly recommend!

Matthew

I am so happy with Rebecca and Angela. I had a nice experience with all the staff and teachers. I finished my Diploma of Salon Management and still studying Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy.

Buddini

A truly professional, welcoming and warm environment. My daughter and I have no doubt whatsoever that Colour Cosmetica is the perfect fit for her.

Corinna

I adore the team at Colour Cosmetica. They are a tight knit family and treat their clients the same way. Couldn’t recommend them higher.

Tom

It was a great class. Rebecca thoroughly explained the steps from client consultation, contraindications, procedures and techniques including how to interact with the client. It was very useful and helped me to be more confident. I enjoyed the class very much.
