From fundamental clipper cuts, fades, scissor cuts and beard grooming, and then on to advanced foil fading, blowout fades, drop fades, creative scissor cuts, cut throat shaving, razor outlining, and advanced styling based on themes and motifs.
Certificate III in Barbering- Cutting and Styling Focused is a complete qualification that concentrates on the art of precision men’s cutting and styling.
You will learn how to design precision-based men’s haircut structures, having the skills and techniques used in accurate classic men’s cutting, covering; men’s one length and solid haircuts, men’s graduated haircuts, men’s layered haircuts, with the art of cutting men’s hair using scissor over-comb precision techniques, working with combined classic men’s haircut shapes and further developing how to combine traditional and classic style cuts.
Detailed cutting using freehand clipper techniques and creating fashion driven styles using tracks and carving is also cultivated.
In the men’s business division you will learn how to participate in sustainable work practices, the importance of complying with organisational requirements within a barbering and hairdressing
environment.
Another important subject is communication as part of a barbering team, the importance of applying safe hygiene, health and work practices, learning savvy business procedures of barbering, up to the minute barbering industry information and contacts.
You will learn the importance of developing and expanding a client base, front desk and customer service, the value of recommending products and services, conducting salon financial transactions, the how’s to providing great barbering salon services to clients, your professional image, professional self-marketing techniques and how to produce creative visual merchandise displays for a male clientele.
